It’s not Easy to Off Your Phone, but I’m Good at It

I never planned on leaving, in fact, I didn’t really even leave

The world just refused to see me for a while

I was still here

I just got angry,

Angry at my phone, so I slammed it on the floor.

And then I paid the price.

The price of a poor man’s angry move.

The jagged shards jutted out and one bright thick line ran up and down the screen.

And well, that was that.

I quickly wanted back inside my prison cell, how else do your cellmates know you’re still out there??

The world of phone was angry at me. Locked inside it keeps its secrets from me — which was my whole world, apparently .

Passcodes were set to keep intruders out that could only be accessed by a thumbprint,

a thumbprint couldn’t be reached, codes couldn’t be viewed,

Passwords were long forgotten.

No insurance was purchased.

I used to have a job, delivering groceries, and lunch to the people.
